Hi. My name is Colin Caraher and I am a DSA approved driving instructor providing driving lessons for Stirling and its surrounding area. I’m an Irish guy (hence the Driving School name) who moved over to Stirling a few years ago and in addition to providing driving lessons in Stirling for learner drivers I also offer training for the PassPlus scheme for newly qualified drivers. I also offer further training for full licence holders who wish to take refresher lessons or motorway lessons. Have a browse through my driving instructor website for full details of:

No two learner drivers are the same ...

That’s why your learning plan will be tailored to suit your individual needs. I have a flexible approach to lessons and you can book 1 hour, 1.5 hour or 2 hour lessons to fit in with your commitments. My goal is not only to help you pass that all important driving test but more importantly that you become a safe driver … for life!

Your Lessons

With your first lesson you will receive your own progress card. This will be used to keep track of how you’re doing and will be updated at the end of each lesson. This helps you to identify your strengths and also to spot areas where you need to improve.

Lessons take place in and around the Stirling area against the backdrop of the Wallace Monument and the historic Stirling Castle and crags. Of course, I do advise you to keep your eyes on the road 😉

Before you go for your test we’ll do some mock tests. These will mimic what actually happens on your test so that nothing comes as a surprise on the big day.

I cater for all age groups and although many of my driving pupils are fairly young I still have a lot of older folks who are just finally getting around to learning.

I'll pick you up from wherever you are in and around the area ...

Stirling, Bannockburn, Bridge of Allan, Cambusbarron, Dunblane

... and pickup and dropoff time are not included in your lesson time (unlike some other driving schools).

Colin is a great driving instructor - he is calm, patient, and makes you feel as comfortable as you can in driving in general, and in preparation to the test. He has an excellent knowledge of test routes around Stirling and the terminology used, so when the test did come up there were very few surprises. He actively wants his students to pass and get to a great level of driving, and is obviously passionate about this. Colin helped me iron out recurring mistakes through simple but highly effective exercises. He also provides a great chat throughout the lessons! I would highly recommend Emerald Mile to any learner driver around Stirling area.
